Coaching Staff

 

Danny EricksonDanny Erickson has completed serving in his 31st season as CHS Head Boys’ Soccer Coach. 

During his tenure the team has qualified for 23 tournament bids. The 2021 team completed the deepest tournament run in program history, advancing to the State Championship Game for the first time in school history.  Beyond the 2021 trip to the State Final, other highlights include, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2006 and 1997 Hock Championships, the 2021 and 2010 Sectional Championships (Final Four), and trips to the Sectional Final in 2010, 2007 and 2002 highlight the team's accomplishments during Erickson's tenure. 

A 1989 graduate of CHS, Erickson played two years of soccer for the St. Anselm Hawks before transferring to Stonehill College.   He received Eastern Massachusetts Coach of the Year honors for the outstanding 2006 and 1997 seasons and earned the Boston Globe Coach of the Year honors for the spectacular 2010 season. Also honored by Hockomocksports.com as Coach of the Year for the 2021 season. The team’s record under Erickson is 285-197-110.  He holds his NSCAA Advanced National Coaching diploma.   He has been the Director of Athletics at CHS since 2004. He served as a Social Studies teacher at CHS from 1995-2016. Thousands of Canton's young soccer players have gotten to know Erickson at Canton Soccer School, his annual summer soccer camp. In 2014, Erickson was inducted into the Massachusetts Soccer Coaches Hall of Fame. 

John Dauphin has been a key assistant coach for the varsity team since the 2022 season.  Dauphin had a very successful collegiate career as a four-year started for Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. 

Jake Shapiro is a member of the CHS class of 2007 where he was a key member of the Bulldog's historic 2006 Hock Championship. He then went on to attend MIT where he was on both the soccer and gymnastics teams. He has been volunteering with the Bulldog coaching staff for the past 8 seasons- with a concentration on our goalkeepers. 

Cesar Martinez Arroyo joined the staff as the JV coach for the 2023 season. His extensive soccer background has made him a great addition to the Bulldog team.
