World Languages Week and the World Languages Committee
Each March the student-led Canton High School World Languages Committee (WLC) plans an annual week-long celebration that honors the cultural and linguistic diversity of our community. WLC students plan workshops, guest visitors, and assemblies for World Languages Week as well as design educational activities for the larger Canton community. WLC students have organized a children's activity table at the Canton Farmers Market for Juneteenth and have organized both in-person and virtual language and cultural activities for elementary students in the Canton Public Schools.
Each year we are always looking for innovative programming and visitors to spark our students' curiosity for languages and cultures. If you have ideas for cultural programming and/or are interested in sharing your culture and language with your child's classes during World Languages Week, please reach out to Ms. Olson at olsonh@cantonma.org and/or your child's world languages teacher.
