Susan Lipton Memorial Fund

We have formed the Susan Lipton Memorial Committee in order to honor the work, dedication and memory of Susan Lipton. She has touched so many young lives during her tenure with the Canton Public Schools as a physical therapist. We hope with the dedication and upgrades to the playground, she will continue to have an impact on the Canton Community. On this website we have outlined our vision and plan for the Playground at the Rodman Early Childhood Center. Click here to read the full biography.
We thank you, in advance, for your support of this very worthwhile endeavor.

Vision:
To create a playground rich in gross motor experiences to promote the development of gross motor, sensory motor and social skills in the students attending the Rodman preschool and all the young children of Canton.
Update:
- As of March 18, 2014, we have raised $19,215.
- During the school committee meeting on March 13, 2014 the approval to more forward with the ordering of equipment was granted.
- Equipment will include a merry-go-round, in-ground balance beam, tunnel, and three bobbers.
- Comittee members are currently working on choosing signage.
- We continue to need donations and volunteers to help with the beautification (i.e. flowers, bench, seasonal up-keep) for the playground.
Plan:
- We would like to have the current playground at the Rodman Early Childhood Center named and dedicated in her honor. This would include erecting a sign, installing a bench and creating a memorial garden.
- We would like to purchase two to three new pieces of playground equipment and have them installed to enhance the motor opportunities for children.
- Fundraisers will be conducted in order to purchase equipment and make upgrades to the playground. Our goal is to raise $20,000.
- We will hold a dedication ceremony in late May-early June.
- We would like to continue the Susan Lipton Memorial Fund so that we can continue to enhance motor opportunities for the children of Canton.
