Preschool Screening and Evaluation

The CPS Early Childhood Program offers free preschool screenings for Canton residents between three and five years of age.

This screening process is designed as a first step in identifying children who may need special education services during their preschool years. Screenings include motor, language, conceptual, self-help, and social development.

We would ike to emphasize that preschool screenings are not an assessment of readiness for kindergarten. Kindergarten screenings are quite different and are given to all incoming kindergarten students each June. Dates for those screenings may be found on the district calendar.

If you have concerns about your preschool child, you should schedule a meeting with Rich Azulay, Student Services Coordinator, to discuss your concerns, by choosing a date in the calendar below. Please note that enrollment paperwork must be completed in advance of the meeting date. You can access the paperwork via download here.
