Preschool Screening and Evaluation
The CPS Early Childhood Program offers free preschool screenings for Canton residents between three and five years of age.
This screening process is designed as a first step in identifying children who may need special education services during their preschool years. Screenings include motor, language, conceptual, self-help, and social development.
We would like to emphasize that preschool screenings are not an assessment of readiness for kindergarten. Kindergarten screenings are quite different and are given to all incoming kindergarten students each June. Dates for those screenings may be found on the district calendar.
If you have concerns about your preschool child, you should call or email Donna Kilday, Early Childhood Coordinator, to discuss your concerns.
