Tips for First Grade Parents

Find a quiet place for your child to do homework everyday.

Invite new school friends home to play to help your child build strong friendships.

Review good behavior expected of your child such as following rules and taking turns.

Share an interest or a hobby with your child.

Take time to listen to your child.

Get involved in your child's school.  Join the CAPT and volunteer in the classroom.

Respect your child's right to have opinions different from yours.

Ask your child about his/her school day.

Discuss what your child is learning in school.

Encourage your child to READ everyday!
