Child Read The Book

Please read aloud and/or listen to your child read. Having conversations after reading really helps build your child's comprehension.

Retelling the story orally in order with as much detail as possible is a skill that needs to be practiced often. When retelling, your child should include:

For fiction:

Characters (Who is the story about?)

Setting (Where does the story take place?)

Plot (What happens in the story? ARe there any problems? What do the characters do?)

Ending (How did the story end? Were the problems solved? How?)

For non-fiction:

What was the story about?

What did you learn?
