Parent Teacher Conferences

We meet twice a year to discuss  the progress of your child. The conferences are usually in October and April, after the Report Cards have been sent home and you had a chance to review them. Your child will have two sets of Report Cards, one for their general classroom, one for the ESL Program

The ESL Report Card shows the skills that the students should have at their particular English language proficiency level. The letter S stands for "support", and the letter I stands for " independent. This is to say that the student with "S" can do the tasks with support and if they have "I" they can do it independently. The students need to have letter I in all the categories to get to another level.

As mentioned earlier Parent Teacher Conferences occur only two times a year. I certainly hope that I will see you more than that; it is helpful for students' progress when we communicate regularly. I usually attend the conference of the classroom teacher together with you, and then see you in my room, as well. I do not mind if your bring your child along ; I like the students to know what I tell their parents about them.
