ACCESS Letter

Dear Parents and Guardians:

Every year the English Language Learners take an assessment called ACCESS. The test measures the students' annual progress in acquiring English. It is a comprehensive test covering listening, reading speaking and writing.

I will not have regular classes with my students during testing. They will be divided in groups and take the test in several sittings. It is an online assessment so children will use computers (chromebooks).

I will prepare some work that the children will do at home. Please help them with that. The older students  will read a book during the testing weeks and accomplish several assignments related to their reading.

The testing will most likely last 3 weeks. It will start as soon as we come back from winter holidays. When they are not tested your children will remain in their regular classrooms. At the Luce School we will have approximately 25 students being tested.
