Ms. Cindy Thomas, Chair of the Superintendent Search Committee has asked me to forward this message to you.

As the chair for theSuperintendent Screening Committee and on behalf of the School Committee, I am pleased to announce the selection of four finalists for the position of Superintendent of the Canton Public Schools.  The candidates are Mr. Jeffery Granatino, Ms. Nancy Lane, Dr. Middleton McGoodwin, and Dr. Anne Wilson.

Mr. Granatino is the Interim Superintendent in Norwood and currently enrolled in a doctoral program at Northeastern University.  Ms. Lane has a Masters degree and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) from Bridgewater State College and is currently the Superintendent in the town of Douglas.   Dr. Middleton has a doctorate from California Coast University and is the current Superintendent in Marshfield.  Dr. Anne Wilson holds a doctorate from Boston College and is an Assistant Superintendent in the town of Brookline. 

As the search process moves forward the School Committee would like to invite the staff and members of the community to meet the candidates during their upcoming visits to our district.  These visits provide an important opportunity for our community to share our many strengths with the candidates and to learn more about each of them. A brief feedback form will be available at each session so that participants may share their perspective of the candidate with the SchoolCommittee. 

In addition, the School Committee will interview each candidate and the public is welcome to attend these interviews.

Open sessions for parents, staff, and community members will be held each day from 2:20-3:15 and 3:30-4:15 in the Galvin Middle School Library.

 We are looking forward to your participation and your feedback from the school visits and encourage you to attend the interviews.  Selecting a Superintendent is one of the most important functions of a School Committee and we expect to review the candidates and select a new Superintendent at the School Committee meeting on Thursday, April1^st. 

Finally, I would like to thank the members of the Screening Committee for their work over the past few weeks.  They devoted a tremendous amount of time to the screening process and the School Committee greatly appreciates their commitment to our school community.
