Task

1. Create Life...

This age old joke of a test question in biology is going to be your assignment.

You will be designing a creative but functional ecosystem incorporating all the relationships and parts of ecosystems we have discussed in class. You must design organisms on each trophic level and show the interactions between your organisms, and their interactions with the environment.

This ecosystem will be affected by a disturbance of your choosing. You will be required to state the changes and come up with a plan to mitigate these effects.

TO BE HANDED IN:
1. An Ecosystem. As a PowerPoint presentation, a webpage, or a drawing on paper/posterboard.  Must include all the information discussed in the Process section.
You may use the scanner to scan in hand-drawn pictures or use Paintshop or other art-type software to draw your organisms and ecosystems. Include one slide/page of each organism with its description, one of the entire ecosystem before the disaster, a food web designed in Inspiration or Word, ecological pyramids, and one picture of the ecosystem after the disaster.
2. EIR Report. A written report of the cause, effects, and mitigation plans for your disturbance.
