SPEECH NEWSLETTER

Dear Parents,

I would like to ask your help in making the speech and language program at school more successful.  Although we will be working together throughout the school year to meet your child’s goals, the assistance you give at home will bring greater and faster success.

As you know the classroom teachers send home a monthly calendar listing themes and activities.  As the speech therapist, I am incorporating the weekly themes into therapy sessions. This technique reinforces information and skills your child is learning in the classroom setting. It is also an excellent way to address your child’s specific goals stated on the IEP. (I.e. concepts, vocabulary, describing). I will send home a “newsletter” stating language-enhancing information related to the current theme.  This information is meant to provide you with a better understanding of skills targeted in therapy.

You can find interactive, at-home activities, worksheets, coloring pages, and book listings for each of the themes below. The selection varies with each theme. Click on a theme to begin.
