Science/Social Studies
In Science we are working with a Foss Science Kit. We are learning about weather and how it impacts our daily lives- AND didn't April vacation teach us that in a depressing way! We are working with vocabulary words such as evaporation, condensation and precipitation. We are also learning about the clouds and the water cycle. Ask your children what they mean!!!

In Social Studies we have finished examining life in a farm community. We are now learning about life in the city. We are brainstorming good and not so good things about living in a certain type of community. Hopefully upcoming our discussion about suburbs will make everyone happy!!! We are also reading The Cabin Faced West by Jean Fritz. This story is building on information started in The Courage of Sarah Noble. We are now hearing about the adjustment that Ann Hamilton had to make as a young girl living in a new settlement. Someone famous is going to visit. Can you guess who this might be? We are learning what makes a novel historical fiction. We will talk about we learn real history from historical fiction.
