Primary Source Analysis
Much of the U.S. History course is centered around primary source analysis. Learning from documents and real life materials allows students to see more than they get by only using a textbook. Primary sources, such as newspapers, pictures, government documents, letters, songs and political cartoons can give students more of a sense experiencing history rather than just studying it.
The following are samples of U.S. History assignments and activities that are based around a primary source:
| Cherokee Census Analysis | The Eagles- The Last Resort |
The Atomic Bomb | WWI Propaganda | Upfront Magazine |
Tests
Although not all tests follow the same format, the following are rather typical of the type of tests that are given in each class.
