It has a big bushy tail and sharp claws. It has small black eyes. The gray squirrel has small whiskers. It is very common because there are 50 different kinds of squirrels.

This mammal lives everywhere in the world except for deserts in Egypt. It is also found in Australia, New Zealand and the tip of South America. This animal will also be found where there are trees. The objects that make the gray squirrels home are dirt, rocks, and trees. It also needs sticks and feathers for its nest. The gray squirrel has something that other animals don’t have. They use sharp claws to climb trees.

The gray squirrel eats lots of berries and nuts as well as flowers, walnuts, fruits and seeds from maples and mulberries. Some of its predators are wolves and owls and maybe some kinds of dogs. It protects itself by having good balance, being a good swimmer and having good sense.

Sometimes you can find a gray squirrel in a tree fighting with a cardinal, but the squirrel usually wins. This animal is the second most watched animal after birds. You can watch them from a distance but be careful because they will bite if you get too close.
