Tom Bresnahan
Tom Bresnahan has been teaching
for the past 15 years with the last 7 years being spent at Canton High School.
At CHS he has taught several types of
classes such as; Self Defense, Team Sports, Life After Canton, CPR/First Aid and
many more. He has been the head coach of the CHS football team and boys track &
field. Tom is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (National
Strength and Conditioning Association & a certified nutritionist) and has now started his own
personal training company. Tom graduated from Randolph High School and received
a B.S. degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He is certified in both Physical Education and Health
Education.
Kate Coleman
Kate Coleman is in her 7th year at
Canton High School. At Canton High School, she has had the opportunity to teach
many different classes such as Sport Sociology, Yoga, Net Sports, and several
others. She has been the girls indoor and outdoor track & field coach at CHS for
the past 7 years. Before coming to Canton, Kate taught Adapted PE for the Lower
Pioneer Valley Collaborative in Western Massachusetts. Kate graduated from
Dighton-Rehoboth High School and received a B.A. & M.Ed from Springfield College. She is certified in PE &
Health Education (PreK-12) and has taken many courses to advance her degree.
Katey Swanson
Katey Swanson has been a teacher for 26
years. She is in her 15th year in the Canton Public Schools teaching
at Canton High School and the Galvin Middle School. At Canton High School, she
has taught Current Health Issues, Men’s and Women’s Health, Personal Health, Health Living,
Creative Cooking, and Multicultural Foods. She has taught health and family and
consumer sciences for grades 6-8 at GMS. She received a B.S. degree from the
University of Maine, and M.Ed. from Fitchburg State College, and has completed
advanced graduate studies in the area of health, nutrition and school
administration. She has served on many committees for the Canton Public Schools
such as the Strategic Planning Committee, the Diversity Committee, Professional
Development Committee, Superintendent and Principal search committees, and has
served as a mentor for new teachers. She has coached basketball and cheerleading
and has served as class advisor and student council advisor in Mansfield and
Tri-County Reg. Voc Tech High school districts. She has served as a lecturer for
graduate courses in education for teachers. Katey is licensed to teach in the
areas of health and family and consumer sciences in all levels of education.
