Mission Statement

Welcome to the Canton High School Career Center/Community Service page.  The page is designed so that you may see all that is offered for your child during their years in high school. 

Some of these offerings include:

Ø  community service

Ø  being actively engaged in job shadow opportunities

Ø  participating in internships

Ø  looking for employment

Ø  participating in the Senior Externship

The Career Center offers individual or group assistance with resume writing, interview skills and job skill training.

A class called Career Planning, for Juniors and Seniors is also offered through the Career center.  To see a copy of the syllabus click here.

The Community Service Department, within the career center, offers many exciting and fulfilling opportunities for your child to get involved with.

Allison Boudreau, a student in the class of 2010, wrote these words that I feel as though wonderfully explain the essence of community service and the thoughts and feelings of many of our students.

“We should all be well aware of the community service that is required of us. However, it should never feel like a responsibility or obligation, but more like a privilege. We should take pride in knowing that we have helped make a positive impact on someone’s life. Community service is an opportunity to make a difference in the world around us. In the words of Leo Buscaglia, ‘Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.’”
