Welcome to the John F. Kennedy Elementary School and the 2007-2008 school year!

I am incredibly excited and proud to begin this year as your new principal at the Kennedy. The excellent reputation and warmth of the Kennedy staff members, parents, and students has already become readily apparent in my welcome here.

The Kennedy has certainly gone through some changes this summer: hiring five new staff members, appointing a new assistant principal, Jan Chamberlain, and having several teachers begin the year at a new grade level.

Other ongoing news and highlights are available to you through the Canton Association of Parents and Teachers (CAPT) newsletter -- also published on this website and sent home monthly.

I look forward to continuing to focus on our Kennedy mission; providing a standards-based education for our students within a safe and nurturing environment. Our staff will assist in educating and developing children who are contributing members of our society, and whose love of learning and the arts can extend beyond their school years. I hope that we can add to this mission a significant amount of fun, creating a recipe for a year of success!

I would strongly encourage all parents to join our Canton Association of Parents and Teachers organization to further assist with our children’s education and development.
Parental involvement in education sets an example for children and certainly adds an element of community pride.
