Change in Date for March K-5 Early Release Day
At its February 7 meeting,
the School Committee approved a change in date for the K-5
Early Release Day originally scheduled for Friday, March
28, 2008. The new date for the K-5 Early Release
Day will be Friday, March 7, 2008. The change
in date was necessary due to the extensive MCAS testing
that must occur at the elementary level between March 24
and April 4. The testing schedule is already extremely
tight. Having a regular school day on Friday, March
28 instead of an early release day will assist school staff
in scheduling the state testing required for all students
in grades 3-5.
