Education World: the Educator’s Best Friend An online magazine and forum for teachers offers many helpful resources from lesson plans, technology integration to school issues. The Techtorials web page has step-by-step instructions for projects that integrate software applications, Internet activities, or some aspect of computer-based technology in classroom teaching.
Landmarks for Schools: the Landmark Project The site contains links to teaching and learning resources on the Web along with Web tools.
Blue Web’n: Knowledge Network Site contains 1,800+ Web sites categorized by subject, grade level, and format (tools, references, lessons, hot lists, resources, tutorials, activities, projects).

The Gateway: U.S. Department of Education A consortium effort to provide quick easy access to educational resources found on various federal, state, university, non-profit, and commercial Internet sites.
tech LEARNING: the Resource for Education Technology Leaders This site provides up-to-date technology related articles and resources including a free subscription to their journal--Technology and Learning.

This site gives an extensive listing of web sites resources which include on-line step-by-step tutorials for learning a variety of applications, links to various educational journals, and web sites for various available grants and fellowships.

An Amazing Teacher Resource: Joyce Kasman Valenza Joyce Kasman Valenza is a librarian information specialist who has written several books and many articles on information literacy. She has received many awards and achievements including the IASL 2001 School Library Web Page of the Year Award for her Virtual Library web page. WebQuests (the original) A WebQuest is “an inquiry-oriented activity in which most or all of the information used by learners is drawn from the Web.” This site, developed by the San Diego State University Educational Technology Department, offers many WebQuest examples, organized by subject and grade level. WebQuests by Subject Area or another site by Subject Area from Tom March.
Filamentality: Knowledge Network This activity “combines the filament of the Web with the learner’s mentality.” Use this site’s fill-in-the-blank tool to guide you through picking a topic, searching the Web, gathering Internet links, and creating the learning activity which can then be stored on their web site.
SLATE: Strategic Learning and Teaching Environment A web tool from the Landmark for Schools web site to create web pages for web activities. |
